Very much a video game song, the idea for Agewise Rift came to me after playing a bunch of indie platformer games.
Song: The Teacher
During our lives, we are crucially influenced by all kinds of teachers: parents, siblings, friends, professors, et al. The aim of this song is to capture the inspirational impact of that influence.
Song: The Brain
This song features 2 important components:
1) The stupendous voice of Deckard Cain (from Blizzard’s Diablo II game), and
2) some samples I recorded off of live TV in 2001 (feat. Kobe Bryant).
A silly track with a heart of gold. <3
Song: Classic White
"What you’re going to hear about today… is nothing short of a miracle."
I wrote this song after watching far too many videos from the 1950s on the Prelinger Archive. The samples I ended up choosing come from a Brunswick ad aimed at making bowling alley owners buy their new crap.
Song: Microcomposer 3
The third song in a series of five. I must have been feeling pretty emotional when I wrote this song, because it feels kinda… longing, doesn’t it? In any event, it features some of the best drum programming I’ve ever done, so there you go.
